Happy Christmas

Christmas cheer at Euxton Lodge

We wish you a Happy Christmas…

…and what a difference a year makes!

This time last year we gave our best efforts to celebrate Christmas by transforming our weekly zoom meeting into a lodge virtual party, the  best we could do under lock-down rules. Remember this?

But we were all delighted this year to be able to celebrate with a full and traditional Christmas festive board as we normally do.

So on Wednesday our WM welcomed friends and family of all ages to a happy Christmas atmosphere enjoying a really superb dinner produced by the splendid Chorley Masonic Hall caterers. And to enhance the jollity the Lostock Hall Memorial Brass Band provided festive background music for the diners

Afterwards an energetically entertaining raffle raised £500 for our widows’ Xmas boxes.

Then, to crown off a most enjoyable evening the WM handed over just over £3,000 to guest Adam Dennett  towards the purchase of a Blood Bike in the memory of Terry Derbyshire.

This had been raised at several lodge functions, including socials, and on-line zoom raffles.

But the lion’s share, a whopping £2,300 had been raised by the family of our IPM Harry Noblet. His intrepid wife, sister-in-law and grandson had endured ferocious winds and weather to undertake a sponsored zip wire challenge.
